I have had a Jardine on for 2 years now and I didn't use the stock heat sheild, the Jardine came with its own shield so I used it, the stock heat shield was a little to big and just didnt look right. As for the removal of the stock muffler, good luck! Also for the gasket (a brass or copper ring) I never used it or any sealant. Never has had a leak. Looks great on the bike and sounds awsome!!!!
